Three Pillars

Entrepreneurship Scholars (E-Scholars) focuses on early-stage ventures. Most participants begin the program in the idea stage, seeking to launch; others have already launched in some way, but are looking to create a systematic growth plan. We provide E-Scholars with three pillars of support:

  1. Cohort Philosophy: Progress through the program with a diverse group of entrepreneurial peers. Approximately 50 percent UMKC students and 50 percent community members, your personal cohort will support you as you develop your idea, launch and scale.
  2. Mentor Network: Gain access to the most extensive network of entrepreneurial mentors in Kansas City. More than 150 highly successful business leaders, serial entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and founders of globally recognized companies serve as mentors in our program.
  3. Academically-grounded Content: Learn the fundamental business knowledge you need to succeed from the faculty of the Henry W. Bloch School of Management. The Bloch School’s AACSB accreditation is the highest standard of achievement, held by fewer than 5 percent of business schools worldwide.
